Groupe PSA has introduced Audatex new Bodyshop Image Capture technology to its Accident Repair Programme in the UK. The solution allows technicians to remotely inspect vehicles before they are delivered to the repair site, speeding up both repair times and parts orders.
Adapting to new social distancing guidelines and hygiene measures, Groupe PSA is working with Solera Audatex to integrate its new digital solutions to its Accident Repair Programme for Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles.
Bodyshop Image Capture is an intelligent web application, that allows the technician to send the vehicle owner a text message request for images of their vehicle and damage immediately after the incident. With no app download needed the owner is then able to upload images of the crash damage so Repair Assessors and technicians can inspect the damage and immediately place required parts orders.
This helps speed up repair times and gives customers an immediate idea of the extent of the repair and their potential cost. With new social distancing and hygiene guidelines, the repair site can also use the images to determine the safest course of action on collecting the vehicle.
Audatex has been providing all bodyshops customers free access and usage of Bodyshop Image Capture from May 2020 – October 1st 2020 and Groupe PSA has already extended this free-of-charge period with Audatex following a successful trial. So all Bodyshop Image Capture transaction fees for the Accident Repair Network between October 1st and December 31st 2020, will remain free of charge when the technology is used on Groupe PSA vehicles.
Commenting on the announcement, Chris Downing, Groupe PSA’s UK Head of Operations for Distrigo, Trade and Bodyshop said, “We are delighted to bring this offering to our customers. 2020 is going to be a challenging year for all, and now, more than ever, we need to put the health and safety of our team members and customers first and support our industry to get back on its feet. Many of our network are already using Bodyshop Image Capture and seeing the benefits, so we wanted to ensure all our customers have the tools they need to operate in a secure, socially responsible way.”
Stewart Myles, Head of Crash Repair at Solera Audatex, commented, “We’re proud to be a part of an industry that, in these challenging times, is showing on a daily basis how, when we work together, we emerge stronger. This trend shows no sign of stopping now lock-down measures are largely lifted and social distancing practices are becoming the norm. Groupe PSA extending the free-of-charge offer on Bodyshop Image Capture to the end of 2020 for its entire network, is another fantastic example of this trend. The team here at Audatex are honoured to support with our state-of-the-art Image Capture Technology.”
