After the very successful 2022 U-Pol AutoRaise Rally, the 2023 Rally is fast approaching on the horizon, and Solera | Audatex’s Ian Brown and Steve Warwick will be at the helm of a reconditioned Mini Cooper that is being worked upon by a team of apprentices at James Alpe Limited.
Over the coming weeks the Clitheroe based accident repair centre and vehicle conversions specialist will be dedicating themselves to repairing the Mini that was sourced from Copart in preparation for the rally, where their team of apprentices will be replacing a front wing and door as well as repairing a rear wing and bumper.
Lee Shaw, Managing Director of James Alpe Limited commented: “We at James Alpe welcomed the opportunity to assist Solera in repairing and preparing their Mini Cooper for the up-and-coming AutoRaise Rally, our Training and Apprentice Manager, Steve Hodgson and his team of apprentices are excited at the prospect of working on the vehicle to suit Solera’s requirements.”
Rally organisers AutoRaise are a charity solely set-up to help the UK vehicle repair industry attract young people into a range of technical apprenticeships. The rally will provide much needed funds and is taking place from 7th to the 9th September where it will be winding its way through East Anglia and the Lincolnshire Wolds.
Steve Thompson, Vice Chair at AutoRaise said: “After the most successful AutoRaise Rally to date last year, we have given ourselves a huge challenge to exceed this, in terms of fun, networking and fund raising! Our decision to stay in the UK and take in 3 counties on our 2 day ‘Viking themed’ rally was an easy one for us. We are hopeful that this will encourage more entrants from across the industry. Our starting grid this year will be at the Lotus Cars Headquarters in Hethel, Norfolk. We will start from their own racing circuit and head out along the north Norfolk coast, through Cambridgeshire and into Lincolnshire as we again straddle the coastline with plenty of sites along the way. Not only is the driving and sceneries a huge pull for the AutoRaise Rally, but our evenings have been equally fantastic with live music, DJ sets and a suitable end to events with a feast fit for modern day Vikings on their voyage to raise awareness of the sea of opportunities that the repair sector can offer to young people.“
Ian Brown, National Account Manager at Solera | Audatex added: “I’m confident the 2023 AutoRaise Rally will be a fun packed experience as it’ll be a joy taking in the beautiful scenery and an excellent opportunity to meet and make friends who work within the industry. Most importantly is that the rally is raising funds for AutoRaise to create opportunities by bringing new blood into the industry and I’ll like to thank everyone at James Alpe and Copart for supporting us.”
