Bodyshop survey shows keen appetite for Artificial Intelligence-led efficiencies

From July to August this year (2022), we surveyed our repairer community on AI’s place in estimating. Here’s what you had to say:

  • 2/3 cited recruiting skilled and experienced staff
as one of their biggest challenges.
  • With parts ordering (54%), awaiting insurer approval (45%),
and time taken to do assessments (46%) closely
following as biggest cycle time delays.
  • Total loss vehicles represented up to 10% of total
intake for 58% of bodyshops and up to 25% for a
further 38%, representing a signifi cant cost to the
industry as a whole. On an average intake of 50
vehicles a week, this suggests a high proportion
of bodyshops take in between 5 and 12 total loss
    vehicles per week.
