On Tuesday 18th June as headline sponsors alongside Thatcham Research, Solera Audatex attended The Bodyshop Repair Industry Apprentice Awards (BRIAAs) at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. It was a fantastic event and great to see the achievements of apprentices from across our industry celebrated, receiving the recognition they deserve. Apprentices represent the next generation of our industry, bringing fresh ideas and talent into a sector that is facing a skills shortage.
At this year’s event we rewarded two of our own apprentices for their hard work and outstanding performance over the last 12 months:
Adil Rahman was awarded the ‘Solera Audatex Progressive Apprentice of the Year 2019’. Over the last year, Adil has moved from Development to QA. In a very short space of time he has taken ownership of Test Automation for the PET Team with implementation, training other team members in Rickmansworth, and constantly increasing regression coverage. He has also continued his studies and passed his ISTQB Foundation in Software Testing. He has been a great mentor to others for Test Automation – all of which makes him a highly valued team member!
Jacob Unsworth was awarded the ‘Solera Audatex Apprentice Special Recognition Award 2019’. Jacob has been with Solera Audatex for nearly three years now, having joined with our first ever intake of apprentices. Jacob really has risen to the challenge of becoming a great developer and this year he qualified as a Scrum Master, taking a lead role as a mentor to other apprentices. He is currently taking on the challenge of becoming an Agile coach. He has excelled in Test Automation while learning the ropes, always takes accountability for his work, and continues to show great duediligence as a Developer and Scrum Master.
Congratulations to Adil, Jacob and all the apprentices recognised at this year’s BRIAA. The apprentices honoured will be among those that come to shape the future direction of our industry, as they work their way up the ranks of our organisations!
